Research assignments have always played a major role, which generally fall into one of three areas connected in some way with breeding lines, kennel influence or the Collie’s development:
Collie Archives – Over the years far too much material has been
lost to subsequent generations making it difficult for modern
enthusiasts to correctly evaluate the influence of preceding generations. Much of this loss is understandable, retired fanciers are reluctant to relinquish treasured memorabilia, which may be their only mementoes of past glories, and surviving relatives seeing no monitory value fail to appreciate their historical importance.
